About

Josh Buffery-Martin is a contemporary British landscape painter, living and working in West Cornwall.

Born in Bristol in 1976, he gained a DipAD from the University of the West of England. He continued his studies in Exeter, receiving a BA Honours in Fine Art.

In 2003 he moved to Cornwall where he worked as a carpenter and painted in his free time.

He works predominantly in oil paint and has sold paintings in the UK and America. His most recent work has been inspired by the stretch of coastline between Portreath in the North and St Ives to the South. These paintings capture the dramatic changing weather patterns that make the Cornish coast and seascape so unique and well loved.

Recent work also includes still life, local landscapes of rural Cornwall and semi-abstract seascapes.
